The Vermont School of Fashion Design (VSFD) is a new creative‑arts institution dedicated to craftsmanship, innovation, and community-centered fashion education. Founded by designer and educator Earl Jerome Battle, VSFD fills a long‑standing gap in New England’s creative‑economy landscape by offering a dedicated space for students to study fashion design, textile arts, and garment construction in a supportive, hands‑on environment.
Rooted in Vermont’s heritage of making and inspired by global design traditions, VSFD blends technical skill-building with imaginative exploration. The school is committed to expanding access to high‑quality arts education, nurturing emerging talent, and building pathways for youth and adults to thrive in creative careers. As VSFD grows, its vision includes a state‑of‑the‑art Creative Arts & Fashion Education Center that will serve as a hub for learning, collaboration, and cultural enrichment across Vermont and New England.
